Description: Cat Island is one of the least inhabited Islands of The Bahamas. It is 48 miles long and 1 - 4 miles wide and is located in the Central Bahamas and south east of Eleuthera. One of the Island's main attractions is Mount Alvernia the highest peak in the Bahamas at 206' above sea level. On top of Mount Alvernia sits a Monastery called The Hermitage. Enjoy miles of rolling hills, diving, nature trails and the eight miles of pink sandy beach. The Settlement of Dumfries is located south east of Arthur's Town. Located off the Main Highway this 50 acre parcel of land is bounded by a fresh water lake and the beach is about two miles to the north.
